Star Wars: Battlefront can be an entertaining game to play in spite of all of its shortcomings, but it remains a game that has most of its value attached to its online connectivity- trying playing Star Wars: Battlefront singleplayer or offline, and you’re left with a husk of a game (and it’s not like the game is substantial or anything to begin with anyway).
It shouldn’t be this way, either- there is no reason that so many of the game modes that are available online can’t be played offline either, with bots or locally. Players have been asking for just that for a while- and apparently, the team at DICE is making progress on making this happen.
We don’t actually have any official confirmation on this- but over on the Star Wars Battlefront Official Forums, user Caleb has revealed that he talked about the matter with the EA Customer Experience and it’s been revealed that the team is working on it and that they have progressed quite a bit.
“The developers are working on it and they have progressed quite a bit,” the customer service representative said. “Hopefully they will [add the mode to the game] soon.”
Of course, customer service representatives are famously clueless about such things, so don’t put too much stock in this- but on the off chance this is true? This would end up making Battlefront a substantially better game than it is right now.
