Given the critical and commercial success Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order enjoyed, there hasn’t been any doubt in anyone’s mind that Respawn Entertainment’s action-adventure game is going to receive a sequel. Even though EA hasn’t officially announced one, it’s expressed on multiple occasions that it intends to develop more games in the Fallen Order series, while job listings have suggested that Fallen Order 2 has been in the works at Respawn for a while.
Recently, reports claimed that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 would be revealed before June, with a launch planned for either later this year or early next year. Now, known insider and journalist Tom Henderson has followed up on and corroborated that leak, claiming that “things are set in motion” for the the reveal of the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel, and that the game is expected to launch in Q4 of this year.
That would mean a three-year gap between the first game and its successor- though of course, in the COVID era, you can never be too sure that a game will launch as planned. Either way, it seems like it will be revealed in the coming months, so we should know more then.
