Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s Lightsaber Will “Change and Evolve”, Says Developer

Apparently the weapon will change right alongside Cal.

Even with its official reveal out of the way, we still don’t know a whole lot about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. We’ve gotten vague tidbits about the title, such as how Respawn Entertainment is aiming to make a game that has a lot of depth but is not too punishing (whatever that means), and there is also optional online play, according to online stores (though no one is sure what it will entail)- but essentially, we know very little of real note. In similar vein, not long after the game’s reveal, game director Stig Asmussen fielded some questions, and dropped a bit of information about protagonist Cal’s lightsaber.

When questioned about it, he gave a coy answer about whether or not it was actually Cal’s lightsaber, perhaps hinting there’s a bit more than meets the eye to the device’s origin, but also said the weapon will change and evolve with Cal.

Whatever that means is left up in the air, like most of the game at this point, but at the very least Cal seemingly won’t be stuck with the same looking weapon through the whole game. You can check out Asmussen’s comments at the panel via Twitch. The game releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 15th.
