Protagonist Kay Vess is going to be front and center in Star Wars Outlaws as the open world title’s scoundrel-in-chief, though she will have several other crucial characters surrounding her, too, and Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have released a new developer diary shining the spotlight on some of them.
For starters, there is, of course, Nix, a merqaal created from scratch for the game by Massive Entertainment. Simultaneously ferocious and adorable, Kay’s furry companion’s creation was inspired by a variety of different animals, including the development team’s own pets.
There’s also ND-5, an old, trench coat-wearing BX-series droid commando who also has a crucial role to play in the story. Starting out as someone assigned to watch over her, the relationship between the two starts out a little cold, before eventually giving way to a friendship.
