In Star Wars Outlaws, the heroine Kay Vess learns new skills in an unusual manner: players must seek out and find one of nine Experts and complete their specific quest in order to learn new Abilities from them. The Abilities from two of these Experts are mandatory for completion of the story mode, while the remainder are optional side quests. Even so, you should try to unlock most of these Abilities as they come in very handy in a variety of situations, from Sabacc to map traversal.
The Mechanic
- Daruda Diner in Jaunta’s Hope on Toshara
Requires story quest ‘New Tricks’ to be completed, and then ‘The Speeder Mechanic’ Intel. This will unlock ‘The Mechanic’ Expert Quest.
Selo Rovak the Mechanic unlocks Speed Boost for the Speeder, among other Abilities.
The Slicer
- Makal in Mirogana on Toshara
Another unlock from ‘New Tricks’, first complete the Intel ‘The Slicer’. Then proceed to ‘The Slicer’ Expert Quest.
Aila Bren the Slicer unlocks the Slicing Kit for slicing a range of devices and using Jokers, among other Abilities.
The Scavenger
- Sashin Village in Karaba Foothills on Akiva
Requires story quest ‘The Droidsmith’ to be completed, and then ‘The Scavenger’ Intel. This will unlock ‘The Scavenger’ Expert Quest.
Temmin Wexley the Scavenger unlocks the Hydrorepulsor to allow the Speeder to traverse large bodies of water and explore new areas, among other Abilities.
The Veteran
- Abandoned Landing Pad in Myrra Valley on Akiva
Collect 5 Transmissions, and then get to the location where MT-7 the Veteran awaits you. Completing ‘The Veteran’ Expert Quest will unlock the Decryption Module which specifically decrypts Separatist transmissions that were left behind during the Clone Wars, among other Abilities.
The High Roller
- Alcazar in Myrra on Akiva
Another unlock from ‘The Droidsmith’, first complete the Intel ‘The High Roller’. Then proceed to ‘The High Roller’ Expert Quest.
Lando Calrissian the High Roller unlocks the twin abilities Plan A and Plan B, for either cheating at Sabacc or shooting your way out when caught, among other Abilities.
The Mercenary
- The Domak Refectory in Kijimi City on Kijimi
In the course of ‘The Safecracker’, complete the Intel ‘The Mercenary’, and then continue on to the Expert Quest ‘The Mercenary’.
Rooster Trace the Mercenary unlocks the ability Can I Try That? which expands the range of Pick-up weapons to include High Tier Imperial Weaponry.
The Gunslinger
- Chalmun in Mos Eisley on Tatooine
Requires story quest ‘The Heavy’ to be completed, and then ‘The Gunslinger’ Intel. This will unlock ‘The Gunslinger’ Expert Quest.
Sheriff Quint the Gunslinger unlocks the ability Adrenaline Rush Mastery which allows for the marking of objects as well as two additional targets, among other Abilities.
The Hotfixer
- Scavenger’s Draw in Mos Eisley on Tatooine
Requires story quest ‘Jabba’s Favor’ to be completed, and then ‘The Hotfixer’ Intel. This will unlock ‘The Hotfixer’ Expert Quest.
Teeka the Hotfixer unlocks the ability Laser Turret which repairs the Trailblazer’s turbolaser turret, among other Abilities.
