Stardew Valley

Eric Barone’s farming simulator Stardew Valley has been a monumental hit, and is generally considered to be one of the best indie games in recent memory. The solo developer has been putting extraneous amounts of work on the game with constant updates, although it seems that he’s switching gears now.

Eric Barone recently talked with Zach “UnsurpassableZ” Hartman, wherein he revealed that he is focused more on his new game. On the topic of Stardew Valley’s future updates, Barone mentioned that he isn’t sure about those – but he will get around to it in a while.

“I’m not saying there’s going to be another Stardew Valley update. I don’t even know at this point. I am focused on my next game. So, we’ll see,” Barone said as spotted by Eurogamer.

Barone is known for taking large amounts of time with his projects, and Stardew Valley’s development was full of hurdles and obstacles – particularly more so since he was the solo developer of the project. It isn’t known what his next project will entail, but it should be worth keeping an eye out for.

In early 2020, Barone said that he was working on two new games set in the same universe as Stardew Valley, though there’s been little to no updates on that since then. Read more on that through here.
