Steins;Gate Elite’s Western Release Delayed to 2019

It seems like it is the will of Steins;Gate to make us wait till next year.

Steins;Gate Elite, the upcoming enhanced remake of what is widely held to be one of the greatest visual novels of all time, was due to launch in the west for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC this year. However, now, in the wake of the Japanese release of the game getting delayed by a few months, the localization has, too.

Spike Chunsoft announced today at the Anime Expo that Steins;Gate Elite will now launch in the west in 2019. The game, as you might remember, expands on the visual novel format by incorporating scenes from the anime into the story seamlessly. New, original scenes for the parts of the story that did not make it into the anime adaptation will also be produced for Elite.

So- that’s a bummer, especially since I was really looking forward to going through Steins;Gate again. That said, I suppose the delay cannot be helped. As the mad scientist Hyouyin Kyouma would say, this is the will of Steins Gate.
