Streets of Rage has been dormant for over two decades, but as far as the beat ’em up genre is concerned, it has a legacy unlike any other- and it says a lot about the series and the impact that it had that eve after years of inactivity, it is still as fiercely beloved as it is. Either way, that inactivity ends today. Streets of Rage 4 is now out in the wild, bringing the series’ long hiatus to a close, and to celebrate that, publishers (and co-developers) DotEmu have released a launch trailer.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of the game’s classic, old-school beat ’em up action, various characters in action, its stylistic cutscenes, and its striking visual aesthetic. Take a look below, especially if you haven’t already jumped into the game and need some convincing to do so.

Streets of Rage 4 promises returning characters as well as new ones, familiar and tight action, various unlockables, as well as a new multiplayer mode where you and your friends can duke it out with each other. The game is out now for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can read our review through here.
