Suda51 told Edge that Grasshopper Manafacure is working on a brand new action IP with special online functionality that is enabled by the studio’s new owner GungHo.

The new IP doesn’t even carry a working title yet, howeveer it takes place in the near future. The game has been in developement since November and is targeted at next year for release. Yusuke Kazaki is doing the visuals for this new upcoming action game. Yusuke Kazaki is best known for being the artist behind No More Heroes.

“Of course it’s an action game and it’ll be on console platforms. We’re considering various console platforms right now,” Suda told Edge. Edge also asked if this new game will be coming to next-generation platform and Suda added: “We’re considering both. Naturally we are interested in developing games for the next-gen platforms. We are investigating the specs and all that right now.”

“This is going to be an action game obviously but the gameplay style is going to differ very much – it’ll be unique,” Suda continued. “This is a title that GungHo Japan and Grasshopper Manufacture is working on together collaboratively so there will be an online feature, because that’s their forte and what they specialise in. On the simplest level it will be social, but the word social is used and misinterpreted a lot these days. GungHo has over ten years of experience in providing online gaming services so that is their strength.”

Edge questioned how the online functionality will come into play, Suda replied: ““This is a very new style of online feature, so there’s no example from the past.”

Give us comments below guys of what you think this brand new IP might be like. Stay tuned for more news on GamingBolt.
