No price or specific date announcement yet though.

One of the best announcements to come out of Sony’s PlayStation Experience keynote on Saturday was that Suikoden and Suikoden 2, the cult classic PlayStation RPGs that are now so rare that their discs go for hundreds of dollars on eBay, to the PlayStation Network under the PSOne Classics banner. This means that Suikoden and Suikoden 2 will be playable on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation Vita, which is awesome.

Now we also know when they will be releasing- both games are due out in January in both, North America and Europe, although Konami has declined to give us a specific release date and price yet, saying only that they will reveal those later.

The original Suikoden and Suikoden 2 were released in 1997 and 2000 respectively; this means that it has been seventeen years since the release of the first game now. It will be interesting to see if the games still hold up, or if it’s just rose tinted nostalgia.
