Super Mario 3D World Launch Trailer Shows Off Gleeful Platforming

Time to buy a Wii U, folks.

Super Mario 3D World looks incredible. Of course it does, it’s by EAD Tokyo, the masters of their craft who gave us Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, arguably the two best games of last generation. With 3D World looking like the first must have game for Nintendo’s fledgling Wii U, it’s being advertised to all hell, and back.

Take, for instance, this new launch trailer: it not only shows off the requisite Nintendo montage of families playing the game together and enjoying it, but more importantly, it shows off the game itself, introducing each of its playable characters in turn. There’s even some new footage there, although most of it is stuff we’ve already seen before, but all of it looks incredible.

Super Mario 3D World launches in a few hours in the US, on November 22, with a European release following on November 29. Stay tuned for more coverage, including our upcoming review.
