Super Mario Maker

Super Mario Maker only just launched last weeks, but players seem to have taken to it like bears to honey- Nintendo today confirmed that the game had seen one million custom levels uploaded since its launch last Friday.

Super Mario Maker, which is the celebratory title for the 30th anniversary for Nintendo’s (and gaming’s) most famous icon, allows players to create 2D levels for Mario in any one of the various styles that have defined 2D Mario games over the decades- everything from the original Super Mario Bros to the more recent New Super Mario Bros. games, and everything in between, is covered. The game also comes with a set of 100 levels for players to clear, meaning there is an almost absurd amount of value to be found here.

It is also that rare game that fully justifies all of the Wii U’s various unique features, including Miiverse and the Wii U Gamepad. Clearly, players are responding to it.

Super Mario Maker is available now, exclusively on Wii U.
