Super Mario Odyssey promises to be a bright, colourful, cheerful game, beckoning you to explore its packed world, and taking away the very fear of death from you so you aren’t discouraged from checking what is around the corner. Dark Souls 3 is a dark, grim, terrifying game which ratchets up the difficulty and kills you without hesitation for even a moment of sloppiness.
So of course someone has gone ahead and mashed the two games up together. YouTuber JellyElite~ has basically recreated the incredible Super Mario Odyssey E3 2017 trailer in Dark Souls 3, and the results are… disturbing. Very disturbing. Fascinating, too, but disturbing nonetheless.

But I warn you, this is the kind of Eldritch horror that even Dark Souls itself traditionally shies away from. if you want Mario proper to wash away this horror from your mind, you have to wait a bit- it will be launching on October 27 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
