Super Mario Odyssey Will Support Switch’s Video Capture Feature

The new 4.00 update for Nintendo Switch added the ability for users to save video footage of their gameplay by using the system’s Capture button. However, the feature, while system level, needs to be enabled on a per-game basis by developers, which is why, for now, only four games (Nintendo’s flagship first party games for the system) support it.

That said, the upcoming Super Mario Odyssey will be supporting the feature, too. Nintendo has confirmed on Twitter that the game will also have the ability to make use of the capture functionality, which should help in recording and sharing all the little, spontaneous moments that are likely to be packed into a dense sandbox platformer such as this one (and combined with the game’s Photo Mode, should help it go viral on social media, just like Zelda did earlier this year).

Super Mario Odyssey is due to launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on October 27.
