The last hotfix before Forsaken will fix a few known issues.

Bungie has revealed when the final hotfix for Destiny 2 will go live before Forsaken launches. It will be on September 4th at 7 AM PDT, which is when players will no longer be able to log in. Hotfix 2.0.0.1 will roll out at this time and Destiny 2 will go offline at 7:30 AM PDT. Maintenance will conclude at 10 AM PDT and Forsaken will be available for all platforms.

Along with granting access to the new DLC, hotfix 2.0.0.1 will provide a number of fixes for some known issues. The list of issues that Bungie is tracking can be seen below:

We are aware of an issue impacting players’ ability to obtain specific loot from the Nightfall strike “Strange Terrain.” This issue should be resolved on September 4 with Update 2.0.0.1.

The XP bar is not showing XP gains for players at the level cap. This is a UI issue, and all players will continue to earn XP and Bright Engrams at their expected rates. This issue is expected to be resolved on September 4 with Hotfix 2.0.0.1.

We are currently investigating an issue that causes the precision multiplier for some weapons with explosive rounds to be incorrectly capped, making them deal less total damage than intended.

We are investigating reports of issues impacting sandbox gameplay, including Hand Cannon recoil on PC and aiming down sights not cancelling properly.

Some Year 2 Forsaken weapons and armor may drop prematurely from world loot sources. Items awarded to players early may see minor changes following Hotfix 2.0.0.1 and the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken on September 4.

Some objectives that require Heroic strikes will not be achievable until Hotfix 2.0.0.1 on September 4.

Players who still have the “Spicy Ramen” quest will not be able to complete it because the ramen shop is no longer distributing expired coupons.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is the latest DLC for the shared world shooter. Along with introducing a new story, there will be tons of lore for players to partake in, a new raid (which goes live on September 14th), new Supers and new weapons to earn. The Tangled Shore and The Dreaming City will be the new zones as players hunt Barons across them. The newest PvP mode is actually a PvEvP hybrid called Gambit, which will have a free trial for all players on September 1st.

Fireteams will no longer disband after Strikes, PvP matches, and Gambit rounds (save for certain conditions).

When Destiny 2 first launched, many fans bemoaned the lack of several key features. After a Strike, players wouldn’t remain with the same random players. Guided Games, meant to offer some kind of matchmaking solution to raids and Nightfalls, was an utter mess. Thankfully, Bungie has taken feedback into account and will be improving things when Forsaken launches.

In its latest weekly update, the developer confirmed that players will remain with their teammates when Strikes, Gambit rounds, and Crucible matches have been completed. This will also make for faster matchmaking for those grinding out these activities, which again begs the question why it was removed in the first place. The one exception is when Crucible matches are ended by Mercy rule or once Competitive matches are complete.

As for Guided Games, the option to reconnect to a Guided Game activity will be added. The activity must still be ongoing and you have to reconnect within three minutes. If not, then the host can search for another player to fill the spot. Furthermore, raid checkpoints can now be saved independently from Guided Games. You can thus use these without needing to be in the same Guided Game session, like when playing with friends or creating a new team if the Guided Game raid squad disconnects.

What are your thoughts on these changes? Let us know below. Destiny 2: Forsaken launches on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Season 3's last Trials of the Nine weekend will take place on August 24th.

In its latest weekly update, Bungie has announced that with the beginning of Destiny 2’s fourth season – which is close to or at the launch of Forsaken – Trials of the Nine will be going on hiatus. Its reputation tokens will be irredeemable and whether the currency will be used in the future is still up in the air. The last weekend for Trials of the Nine in Season 3 will take place on August 24th.

The announcement is interesting, given the reception to Trials of the Nine when Destiny 2 launched. Many fans of Destiny’s Trials of Osiris found the mode wanting, especially given the current state of Crucible. It also didn’t help that armour and weapons from Trials of the Nine didn’t really feel all that exceptional. Hopefully, with the upcoming sandbox changes and other changes, the mode will see some fresh life breathed into it.

On top of all this, the final Iron Banner of Season 3 starts on August 14th and will focus on Control. The mode will implement many changes with the format including zones being locked down for 20 seconds if all are captured.

What are your thoughts on changes to Trials though? Let us know below. Destiny 2: Forsaken is scheduled to release on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Latest trailer for the expansion promises "Destiny's largest endgame experience ever".

Bungie has released a new trailer for Destiny 2: Forsaken, showcasing some of the mysteries that await in The Dreaming City. Described as “Destiny’s largest endgame experience ever”, The Dreaming City is set the Awoken’s home country. As it turns out and to the surprise of no one, all is not well. Check out the trailer below.

Invited by Petra Venj of The Reef, The Dreaming City was meant to be a place the Awoken could retreat to when things were safe. Unfortunately, it seems a curse of some sort has afflicted the city. Along with exploring the region and uncovering its various pieces and puzzles, players will have to work to discover the various bits of lore and loot lying around. What appears to be a new Escalation Protocol event will be taking place in the Blind Well.

Those truly brave enough can tackle the raid, taking place in the core of the city where an “immense creature” lays in wait. Many fans are already speculating an Ahamkara, Destiny’s equivalent of dragons, but who knows what it could actually be?

Destiny 2: Forsaken is out on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, so it won’t be long before we find out.

New Perks associated with new mods and changes to the mod system are coming.

In its recent combat stream hyping up Destiny 2: Forsaken’s launch in September, Bungie also talked about changes that would be coming to the ammo economy. Since the loadouts system will allow players to equip three of the same weapon, changes have been made to ensure the Crucible remains somewhat balanced.

For instance, Special weapons will always spawn with two shots in the magazine. The exception is Trace Rifle, which will spawn with 40 energy. If you have two Special weapons, then the total amount of ammo provided on spawning is halved (so one round for each). Special Ammo can also drop upon death, provided it already hasn’t been exhausted by the player.

As for mods, some rather interesting changes are on the way. Dismantling weapons will send the equipped mods to your inventory. Armour mods have also been changed to fit multiple classes, and will allow for stacking grenade cooldowns, Super cooldowns (which are returning), and more.

Also among the coming Year 2 mods are Backup Mag, which will increase magazine size, Minor Spec, which inflicts additional damage against normal grunts, Boss Spec, for more damage against bosses and vehicles, and so on. It’s possible to use any mods currently in your inventory to apply to weapons in Year 2. However, Year 1 mods won’t be working anymore and mods, in general, will no longer grant +5 Power.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is out on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on the changes? Let us know in the comments.

Bungie is bringing sweeping changes to the Crucible in terms of time to kill and abilities.

Bungie recently held a live-stream for major weapon changes that would be coming around the launch of Destiny 2’s Forsaken DLC. Some of these changes have already been discussed (random rolls, new Supers, time to kill changes, etc.) but the developer highlighted some specifics during its stream.

First off, many of the base Supers are receiving buffs. Nightstalker’s Shadowshot will now tether enemies faster and more reliably. Gunslinger’s Golden Gun will last two seconds longer. Stormcaller’s Stormtrance will also have higher damage, so you no longer have to worry that you’re tickling foes to death.

Some of the more requested changes include Ward of Dawn having increased health and increased melee damage for the user and allies within it; Shoulder Charge returning to one-hit kill status; buffs to grenade damage and Throwing Knife; and buffs to Healing Rift to balance the shorter time to kill. Empowering Rift, meanwhile, will also receive a buff to offer more precision damage in PvP.

Those keen on grinding need not worry. The Masterwork system is being changed to allow for 10 levels of upgrades with a 10 percent bonus (up from 5 percent) to stats like stability, range, etc. Masterwork weapons will even reveal kill counters at level but there’s quite the grind involved. Numerous Masterwork Cores, materials and Glimmer will be required to fully upgrade one weapon.

There’s a lot more to get into, but for now, these changes seem to at least offer Crucible gameplay that’s more in line with the first Destiny. Destiny 2: Forsaken is out on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. However, the upcoming sandbox changes will be available for free for everyone.

Pick up Destiny 2, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken in one single package.

If you were tempted to pick up Bungie’s Destiny 2 and the underwhelming DLCs Curse of Osiris and Warmind to get into Forsaken, then a better offer is now available. Activision has announced Destiny 2: Forsaken – Legendary Collection which includes the base game, its first two DLC, and Forsaken, all for $59.99. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Of course, if Destiny is an addiction and you must have everything for the best possible deal, then there’s Destiny 2: Forsaken – Complete Collection. It includes the base game, first two DLCs, Forsaken and the Annual Pass. The Annual Pass is a new initiative by Bungie to introduce seasonal DLC emphasizing end-game activities, Strikes and challenges. The DLC in question is Black Armory (Winter 2018), Joker’s Wild (Spring 2019) and Penumbra (Summer 2019).

As for Destiny 2: Forsaken, it will release on September 4th for $39.99 with a bundle containing the DLC and the Annual Pass costing $69.99. You’ll still need Curse of Osiris and Warmind to access Forsaken. If you haven’t ever experienced Destiny 2 and really, really want to know what the fuss is about, there are worse deals than Destiny 2: Forsaken – Legendary Collection.

When the Forsaken DLC launches, players will have a clearer path to Powerful Engrams than before.

If you’ve peered at Bungie’s roadmap for Destiny 2 en route to Forsaken, you’ve probably noticed the part which states “Milestones and Challenges updates”. In its recent weekly update, Bungie outlined exactly what that means, and how the Director will also be changing.

First off, the developer revealed that Challenges would replace the traditional means of tracking Milestones. There will be quests and bounties that specifically provide better gear as well. Finally, you can expect various mysteries to pop up as well. These three tenets will be essential to acquiring Powerful Engrams when the Forsaken DLC drops.

You’ll see the “Milestones Blade” also indicating certain activities like critical missions, new subclass pursuits, the next quest or character progression steps and Legacy milestones from the campaign. The Director will also be updated with The Tangled Shore and Dreaming City locations which require the Forsaken DLC to access.

Though we’ll only know the full potency of these changes when they’re live, it’s good to see Bungie addressing its flawed Milestones system. Will it get players to engage more consistently with the game? Destiny 2: Forsaken is out on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, so we’ll know then.

Senior sandbox designer confirms changes to global time to kill in Crucible.

Bungie is busy prepping the launch of Destiny 2’s next DLC, Forsaken, which takes players to the Reef to battle Prince Uldren (and eventually avenge the death of Cayde-6). New information on reward systems, Exotic gear, Supers and the new Gambit mode have been circulated, but Bungie will offer more information on sandbox changes in August.

More specifically, it will host a “Year Two Combat Reveal” stream on August 7th at 10 AM PDT on Twitch and YouTube. Senior sandbox designer Jon Weisnewski will be on hand to discuss ammo changes, weapon customization, and weapon slot changes.

Furthermore, he confirmed that global time to kill in the Crucible has been adjusted. These changes will be live when Forsaken launches in September. Other features that will be showcased include perks, mods, loadouts and much more.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is out on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Prior to its launch, Bungie will release patch 2.0.0 on August 28th. This brings weapon slot changes, Heroic Story missions, bulk shader deletion, updates to Milestones and Challenges, and much more.

Free to all Destiny 2 players, these updates will precede the launch of Forsaken.

Destiny 2: Forsaken promises to offer a lot of new content and changes for players, whether it’s a return to a more mature story-telling style and random rolls or a new end-game zone called The Dreaming City. Not all of the changes we’ve seen will require paying for Forsaken, though, and perhaps more intriguingly, some will launch before the DLC is out.

According to Bungie in its latest development roadmap update, weapon slot changes, bulk shader deletion, and additional Vault space (with 200 additional slots for a total of 500) will arrive on August 28th. Changes to the weapon slots essentially mean rocking three varieties of the same weapon type, though some will obviously stay in the Power weapon slot. This allows players to test out the ammo economy and mess with new load-outs before the DLC drops.

Updates to the Director, Milestones, and Challenges will also be coming, along with Heroic Story missions. Though “Power Matters” for Iron Banner and Trials of the Nine will be live on September 4th, the former won’t be available on the same day. Don’t worry though – all players will get three new Crucible maps for free (with PS4 owners receiving an exclusive additional map) across a variety of PvP playlists.
