The death of fan-favourite character Cayde-6 is a major event in the universe of Bungie’s Destiny, and we’ve been promised that it actually serves a deep narrative purpose, and hasn’t been done just for shock value. It’s certainly looking like an interesting narrative setup for the upcoming Forsaken expansion of Destiny 2, and a new 10 minute long gameplay video revealed for it seems to suggest that as well.
The video, which was released by Game Informer as part of their month-long coverage of the game, shows one of the DLC’s earlier missions, and serves to set up the major antagonists of the new story. Players venture into the Tangled Shores, looking to hunt down the Barons, as they set off for their quest of revenge against Uldren Sov, who is responsible for the death of Cayde-6. This particular mission itself features The Fanatic as the primary villain. You can take a look at the entire footage in the video embedded below.
This isn’t the first bit of gameplay footage to come out of Game Informer’s coverage of Destiny 2- Forsaken. Recently, they released yet another video, that showed some pretty cool looking gameplay, and also detailed super abilities. You can watch that here.
