Nihon Falcom has confirmed that the next Ys game will launch for PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch in Japan by September 30 next year.
Set between Ys 1 and 2, Falcom is aiming for a "lighter-feeling" Soulslike style of combat while introducing new gameplay elements.
Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo said that while Ys 7 to Ys 9 have "maintained a similar system," the new title "will be completely different."
