The EA Originals label has put out a pretty solid collection of games from smaller indie studios over the years, so there’s always interest in what it’ll have lined up next, and it seems the next game to be released under the label has been leaked.

Prominent leaker billbil-kun has claimed in a report published on Dealabs that EA Originals’ next title is Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, a 2.5D sidescrolling platformer being developed by Surgent Studios. As per its website, Surgent is a production studio that has, until now, worked primarily on films and TV shows, and is currently working on an unannounced debut game project.

As per billbil-kun, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU will feature a visual aesthetic similar to Frozenbyte’s Trine franchise, and will revolve around a young protagonist capable of wielding magical powers. The magic will allegedly alternate between blue and orange colours, as per gameplay images allegedly seen by the leaker, and the protagonist will be equipped with two necklaces.

The report goes on to claim that Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is set to be unveiled sometime in early December, which might be pointing to an announcement at The Game Awards on December 7. Pre-orders for the game will allegedly go live promptly after its announcement, with a release scheduled for April 23, 2024, and will retail for $17.99.

As per the report, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Whether PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions are also in development is unclear.
