And it looks really nice to boot.

Namco-Bandai has released a new video for Tales of Xillia 2, the Playstation 3 exclusive action RPG that continues their famous “Tales of” series. In the trailer (which is in Japanese), we get further glimpses into the game world, characters and some truly surreal environmental design. All in all, should make the trip well worth it when the game arrives this Winter in Japan.

Tales of Xillia 2 is looking to introduce radical new ways of combat and approach, with the L1 and R1 buttons opening up different choices throughout the game. These can range from plot development to fighting a foe or even retreating from a battle. It was also feature a modified version of the original’s battle system, which looks to balance chains and character combos with special character abilities. Despite it’s typical JRPG trappings, it should be interesting to see how this anime-esque adventure pans out. Look for the original Tales of Xillia to be releasing in North America and EU in 2013.
