Street Fighter 6 might be the game that’s occupying the minds of most fans of fighting games right now, but there’s another upcoming heavyweight of the genre to look forward to in Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8. Details on the game have been rolling out of late, and while a release date hasn’t yet been announced, the publisher has now narrowed down a launch window.
During its latest quarterly investors Q&A (via ResetEra), when asked about the games Bandai Namco has planned for the coming fiscal year – which runs from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024 – the publisher confirmed that in addition to Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, it also expects to release Tekken 8 during that period. The Japanese company made similar statements in November last year, when it said the fighting title could launch in the aforementioned period.
Bandai Namco has recently revealed a host of new details on Tekken 8. In addition to confirming Nina Williams for its roster of fighters, the publisher has spoken about the removal of the Rage Drive mechanic, the new beginner-friendly Special Control Style, the Heat system, and the possibility of adding rollback netcode.
Tekken 8 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
