Ten Great Games Of 2012 That No One Cares About

Gotham City Impostors

January is always a dark time for game releases, so its impressive that fewer people have been interested in Gotham City Impostors, a class based online shooter launching for DLC services very soon indeed. The idea of a Batman themed FPS probably seems too weird and too soon after Arkham City to be worth their time, but the mock superhero characters look humorous and, for the price especially, the game looks like it will be well worth a look.

Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney

I guess the lack of a confirmed worldwide release puts this dazzlingly appropriate puzzle crossover on the back-burner for 2012 hype, but this lack of confirmation of a western release is exactly why we should be more vocal about this one. As a merger of the two most distinctive and memorable series on DS, we need to make sure that Level-5 and Capcom know how much we want to see this one released outside of Japan.

Journey

Journey is the upcoming creation from Thatgamecompany, otherwise known as those guys who did Flower. Much like Flower, it looks set to make us re-evaluate exactly what a game is, but this time through unique online components. Players travel through a mysterious desert, meeting other players along the way who remain entirely anonymous. No names are given and players are unable to communicate with each other outside of a wordless shout. Players can help or hinder each other as they see fit throughout their collective journey through the desert. It sounds unconventional enough to be brilliant, and it certainly might make you think about how communication is used within online gaming.
