Ten moments that made you pull your hair out

3. Save glitches

You make the coolest Soul Calibur character ever, only for the cruellest of save glitches to claim him while you sleep

Glitches suck. No doubt about it. No matter how insignificant they are, bugs and irregularities annoy even the least OCD of the gaming public. The worst kind have to be glitches that effect your save data on account of you not realising their full destructive powers until it’s too late. You tuck yourself in late one night hoping to pick up where you left off in the morning, then bam! All your pokemon are gone. There’s no funeral, no prolonged goodbye. Just an empty feeling in the depths of your soul.

2. One on one multiplayer

There’s nothing like a bit of pressure to excite the competition; but only when it goes in your favour. Otherwise it is a source of undeniable irritation. When you lose in a one on one fight, you’re the only one to blame. That missed cross, that botched frag toss, that miss-timed Hadouken. All on you. Sometimes you have to swallow your pride and accept your defeat. It is a painful and annoying experience indeed to know when you’ve been bested.

1. Team multiplayer

Really, you need that many people to get the bomb!? Amateurs…

As much as I hate having to accept I suck at RTS games by my lonesome, having to accept that the rest of humanity sucks at Halo is an even more frustrating affair. N00bs, griefers, hoarders. I don’t care who you are, if you play on Xbox Live, you have probably annoyed the hell out of me at some point. Likewise, I’m sure I have committed the same injustices toward you. I believe it was Jean-paul Sartre who said that “hell is other people.” Nothing illustrates this point more clearly than trying to co-operate with others in a gameplay scenario.
