2. Assassin's Creed
Though it came as somewhat of a surprise, the framing mechanic of Desmond Miles gave Assassin's Creed an interesting narrative structure that the game benefited from. That is, until the end. Altair's side of the story wraps up fairly nicely, with minimal loose ends remaining, but Desmond's ending just screams cheap sequel set up. Desmond finally starts to get some of Altair's powers and actually do something kind of cool, only for an abrupt credit sequence to really rub salt in the wound.
