Devolver Digital’s recent Direct showcase brought with it the announcement of a new game by Deepnight Games, a one-man independent studio from Sébastien Benard, the former director of Dead Cells. Called Tenjutsu, it’s a martial arts action roguelike with a gorgeous pixel art aesthetic.

Players take on the role of a yakuza in the fictional Secret Garden City, as she goes up against her former bosses in four powerful criminal syndicates that rule the city. The game will feature a brawler-esque combat system, various weapons that can be used in combat, a system of upgrades, several different martial arts techniques, and resources that you can gather and spend in shops and restaurants. Check out its reveal trailer below for a look at what the game will have in store.

Tenjutsu is in development for PC. There’s no word yet on whether it will also release for consoles, or when exactly it is expected to release.
