The Banner Saga was an incredible game- we certainly thought very highly of it when it released earlier this year, impressed by its gorgeous visuals, its incredible soundtrack, its moving story, and its unique blend of SRPG and point and click adventure game gameplay, which emphasized player agency over all else. However, so far, it has been available exclusively digitally- now that’s about to change. As we reported a while back, The Banner Saga: Collector’s Edition, the physical retail copy of this game that is billed as ‘the definitive way to play the game’, is now available in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Stoic’s breathtaking game has been published for retail in these territories by Sold Out.

“We are very happy that Versus Evil found a great partner in Sold Out to bring a physical version of our game to some of the key European, Australian and New Zealand markets” says Arnie Jorgensen, Stoic’s Art Director. “The fact that there is demand for a physical version of The Banner Saga is humbling.  We can’t wait to get a hold of a boxed copy ourselves and hope that fans are equally excited to pick one up today.”

No retail release for American territories has been announced yet, although we hope that will change soon. For more on The Banner Saga, be sure to check out GamingBolt’s previous coverage of the game.
