Publisher MyTona and developer Fntastic have announced The Day Before, an open world survival MMO. It is set in a deadly post-pandemic America overrun by zombies, while those who have survived fight against each other for any and all resources they can get their hands on. Players will wake up in “a world you no longer remember, setting out to find answers and the resources to survive.”

A lengthy reveal trailer has also been released, showing plenty of gameplay, which you can view below. It has major The Division vibes, and it looks solid based on this early look, so here’s hoping it can live up to the strong first impression it’s making.

Players will traverse the deadly open world environments, gather loot and resources to survive, scavenge cars and houses and abandoned skyscrapers, and take on infected flesh-eating monsters using “realistic weapons.” The game also involves driving, while you will also be tasked with creating and fostering your own colony of survivors.

The Day Before is due out for PC in Q2 of this year, so it’s actually surprisingly closer to launch than you’d expect. It remains to be seen whether the developer will have a beta period prior to the game’s launch. Stay tuned for more updates.
