The Division Graphics Comparison Video Shows No Downgrade At All

But don't worry, there's still a lot of time to its release.

Ever since Watch Dogs, most people have come to expect a visual downgrade for most of Ubisoft’s announced titles. It doesn’t help that the company has a bit of a history with doing that sort of thing as well. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that most people expected The Division to have had some kind of visual downgrade this E3 compared to its stunning debut last year, and that others piled on to the bandwagon with similar reports.

However, as the recent comparisons of gameplay from E3 2013 and E3 2014 show in the above embedded video, there… doesn’t seem to be much of a downgrade at all. The game’s gameplay mechanics look to be dramatically different, but the graphics seem to appear largely the same. One might even argue that the artstyle has evolved and looks better now.

The Division launches next year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
