An expanded world
A lot of the time game worlds tend to feel more like something ticked off of a list rather than the essential and well thought out elements of a game that they should be. Skyrim seems like a somewhat different case though. The game features dragons heavily (as alighted upon above) to the point where draconic tongues and languages feature heavily in the game. Rather than just getting the voice actors to speak gibberish, the team have actually created and revised a fully functioning draconic lexicon. You know those really intense Lord of the Rings fans who can actually speak elvish? Think about the Skyrim equivalent of that. You now have a new goal in life dear reader.
New skills
Being the sequel to an expansive RPG series, we can readily expect Skyrim to offer Elder Scrolls fans a plethora of new skills, spells and passive talents. Alongside these, however, will be a variety of new dragon shouts that the player can use. Seeing as the player’s character is a chosen dragon slayer, he has these unique skills that are gained by slaying different dragons. They may let you summon dragon companions, teleport or even slow down time. It sounds like these will bring an even greater sense of combat depth to Skyrim.
No demo
“So when is the earliest I can get my hands on this bad boy?” I hear you ask, as you complacently anticipate the forthcoming release of a demo. Well, sadly for you, you won’t be getting any chance to try out Skyrim before its November 11th launch. As annoying as this news is to the impatient of us out there, the reason behind this is because the game is apparently too big and expansive to be effectively represented in a short demo. At least it’s for a good reason that will likely result in a better game. That and, when have you ever seen an RPG that has been well represented in a demo?
