THE FINALS Drops Interesting Rules for Season 11 in New Gameplay Trailer

This is a game show that’s quite a challenge, with a world that can work either for you or against you, depending on how you use it.

If you’ve been insisting that the game show in THE FINALS must go on, the latest season live probably has you thrilled to jump into everything new when it goes live on July 9th. The accompanying reveal trailer laid down some ground rules that might sound pretty familiar to veterans of its destructive gameplay loop, but we think it’s worth summarizing for anyone looking to hop into this one completely unaware of what awaits.

Basically, don’t trust the walls. Or the ceiling. Or the very floor you’re walking on. There could be a well-placed explosive just waiting for you to set it off, and begin a chain of events that your opponents have carefully planned. Of course, you’ve always got the scope to turn things around, which is what makes this one a very addictive proposition indeed.

We were bummed when this one ended last-gen support, but it seems like Embark Studios made a good choice, allowing the game’s visuals to finally take advantage of what the current generation of gaming hardware can do. We’re hoping that’s the case with the gameplay too, as it’s when the best-laid plans go wrong that the real fun begins in THE FINALS. Beyond the new arena (Galaxy Estates), the revamped melee combat, and Cashout matches against bots, there’s plenty to look forward to in Season 11.
