The First Japanese PS4 Commercial Goes International

This one is for the players, worldwide.

Posted By | On 31st, Dec. 2013

The PlayStation 4 has launched in the US, Canada, Mexico, UK, France, Germany, Australia, India, and other Asian and European territories, but it has not yet seen a launch in its home territory of Japan. But with the February 22nd launch in Japan rapidly approaching, Sony has started to market the thing.

The video you see above is the first Japanese commercial for the console, and it goes international, showing us the launches and hype for the console in different cities around the world. It’s good at showing the sentiment and excitement that surrounded the PS4 launch worldwide, but I don’t know, if I was Japanese, I’d just be pissed that everyone in the world got it before me and that I get it last.

Still, it’s a great ad, and with the console market in Japan rapidly contracting, and the handheld market poaching on it, it will be interesting to see how the PS4 does in the country once it launches.
