With E3 around the corner, we expect some surprises, disappointments, fun moments and potentially wow moments. Since E3 debuted in 1995, it has featured all manner of twists, turns and shocks, and it is safe to say that there will even more moments that will surprise the hell out of us. But more importantly E3 is the time when all gamers get together and remind ourselves that life would be unimaginable dull without some of best of the best games appearing at these conferences. With that in mind we take a trip down memory lane and take a look at some of the most surprising and embarrassing moments that have occurred during the E3’s that have gone by.

Destiny revealed at Sony’s E3 2013 conference

When Bungie showcased Destiny at E3, many people were quite amazed at the spectacle that was this game. First of all, being an ex-Halo studio take centre stage in a Sony event was surprising. The gameplay was smooth, fluid and the graphics blew everyone away. The game quickly took everyone off guard and rapidly rose to the top of the “must have list”. The game had a sort of borderlands feel to it, and it wasn’t a bad thing, in fact it was one of the elements that made the gameplay so appealing. And of course it was this game that got everyone excited to get their hands on the PS4 and Xbox One.
