98. Ultima Underworld
Ultima Underworld managed to go from a not-well-known game to eventually reaching nearly 500,000 copies just by word of mouth. Released in 1992 the gameplay is quite revolutionary and at that time the dungeon simulation was quite realistic and way ahead of its time. The game takes place in a first-person perspective and three-dimensional environment, one of the first games to ever offer the same (even before Wolfenstein or Doom)
