The Last of Us: Part 2, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima Still Coming to PS4

Sony notes the "outstanding roster" of PS4 exclusives to come in IR Day presentation.

The Last of Us: Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Death Stranding are currently three of Sony’s top triple A exclusives for PS4. The company hasn’t really given any indication that these would suddenly skip the platform. However, with talk of the PlayStation 5 heating up and no real release windows for any of the above, it’s easy to see why some fans would be skeptical.

However, in its recent IR Day 2019 presentation, the publisher confirmed that all three titles are still PS4-bound. It noted that it had an “outstanding roster of exclusive AAA games still to come”, with images for the three games in question. That doesn’t mean they wouldn’t come to the PS5, either at launch or sometime down the line, but it does mean that those hoping to see them on the PS4 will definitely be happy.

It’s not like Sony is inexperienced in bringing previous generation titles to newer platforms. The Last of Us famously released in 2013 for PS3, the same year as the PS4’s launch. It would be remastered for the latter console and released in July 2014, garnering even more success in the process.

As such, we’ll have to wait and see what the company’s plans are, especially with Kojima Productions teasing a new Death Stranding trailer, and rumours circulating about an update for The Last of Us: Part 2. Stay tuned for more updates.
