The Legend of Heroes - Trails in the Sky the 1st

Perhaps one of the biggest announcements during Nintendo’s Partner Showcase is The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, launching in 2025. It’s a full remake of Trails in the Sky FC, the first title in the long-running Trails series, and considered the starting point for subsequent titles. Check out the reveal trailer below.

Utilizing Falcom’s proprietary engine, the remake features Liberl in full 3D for the first time. The official website (translation via DeepL) confirms that traversal from fields to towns is seamless. The same applies to combat, where attacking enemies on the field initiates a command battle without loading screens or different areas. Unlike Trails through Daybreak, the remake doesn’t offer real-time combat mechanics.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st is coming to Nintendo Switch – stay tuned for details on other potential platforms. Falcom is also working to bring The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak 2 to the West in early 2025.
