The Legend of Zelda Breath of Wild Retail Version Performs Better Than Preview Builds, According To Report

Breathtaking.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the most anticipated game of the year, and also the game that is synonymous with Nintendo’s upcoming Switch, as well as its launch. However, for all of its anticipation, nothing can change the fact that the game is ultimately just a slightly spruced up version of a Wii U game- effectively, it is a game made for hardware that is only slightly better than the Xbox 360.

This means that it is bound to have some technological deficiencies- while the art style covers for it, the game itself does suffer from a fair few issues. However, speaking in a recent preview, Engadget let slip that Zelda‘s final build appears to work a lot better than than the preview builds, without the stuttering or the slowdown that characterizes at least the Wii U version of the game. The game apparently look ‘striking’ at times- which, again, is something I would attribute more to the artstyle than anything else.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launches on the Wii U and Nintendo Switch come March 3.
