Nintendo’s upcoming console, the NX, is still a bit of a mystery. Recent rumors indicate that the console will most likely be a hybrid and if the recent comments by The Pokémon Company chief executive Tsunekazu Ishihara are anything to go by, it seems like Nintendo’s next console will indeed be a mix of handheld and home console.

“The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device,” said Ishihara in an interview with WSJ. This statement strongly suggests that the NX will be a hybrid console given that Ishihara explicitly mentioned the term “handheld.”

He also confirmed that they will be making games for the Nintendo NX. There have been reports that the console will be revealed something next month but so far there has been no concrete information. Hopefully in the coming weeks, Nintendo will be willing to share more about its mysterious new console.
