The Surge

Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13’s upcoming sci-fi action RPG title, The Surge, received a lengthy gameplay video alongside a number of interesting new details. Deck 13’s Creative Director Jan Klose revealed new details regarding the game’s combat mechanics and crafting features in a recent PlayStation blog post.

Your CREO exo-suit will be upgradeable through collecting tech-scrap and blueprints, both of which can be “acquired from the world’s gigantic, industrial bosses.” The exo-suit will allow the player to specialize in a wide range of combat styles, especially thanks to a large range of add-ons and mods that can be used to augment its abilities.

As the suit gets more versatile and powerful, players will find that they can access parts of the world that were previously closed to them. The Surge also received a 15-minute gameplay trailer, where it showcases combat sequences and how to craft and upgrade your exo-suit’s components.
