The Surge is Deck 13’s newest take on the Dark Souls formula- and unlike their 2014 misadventure Lords of the Fallen, The Surge actually does fairly well for itself, thanks to its unique, science fiction setting, and the numerous mechanical and gameplay twists it introduces to the standard genre tropes.

That said, it is still a Souls-like. That means it is difficult, yes, but it also means that figuring out its labyrinths, and where to go and what to do, can be difficult at times.
