As recently as last year, we were treated to the excellent The Talos Principle 2, and soon enough, developer Croteam and publisher Devolver Digital will also be bringing back its beloved predecessor in enhanced fashion.
The Talos Principle: Reawakened has been announced, with a trailer that you can check out below. Billed as an expanded remaster of the original 2014 puzzle classic, Reawakened will feature new content in the form of an entire brand-new chapter, which will focus on the story of Alexandra Drennan, who “faces profound existential questions while orchestrating the Simulation’s first critical test”.
Rebuilding the game in Unreal Engine 5, the remaster will also tout a number of visual and technical enhancements, in addition to quality-of-life changes and gameplay improvements. The original game’s expansion, The Road to Gehenna, will also be included, as will an entirely new feature in the form of a Puzzle Editor, which will “empower the talented modding community to build unique worlds and challenges, fostering creativity and ensuring a thriving future for The Talos Principle.”
The Talos Principle: Reawakened will release at some point in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
