Following the release of the Elder Blood Trailer and then the official statement announcing a delay of 12 weeks for The Witcher 3, citing “The sheer size and complexity of The Witcher, key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production”, the community manager Marcin Mormot eased the blow by giving some new information about the extra playable character in the game.

Speaking by way of the numerous official The Witcher 3 Forums, Marcin said that he  “Just wanted to add something regarding the second playable character which would help clear up some confusion and put an end to speculation.” An excerpt from one of his posts reads “You won’t be able to switch between them at will. There will be certain moments in the plot when you assume control of that other character. The time you spend playing as that other character, however, will be significant.”

There’s not much that we know about the character, there’s no name or any related assets that have been released. Mormot further added said, “I know it’s hard when you wait for a game and it turns out you need to wait a little longer. We promise you, however, that you won’t be disappointed.”

Those are some big words and only time will tell if the game proves to be a disappointment. What do you think of the delay?
