There is a new enemy. There is a new war. There is a new warrior. There is a new Medal of Honor.

EA announced today that the Medal of Honor franchise would be returning in the fall of 2010, this time though it would not be set in World War II. This time around EA is bringing the franchise into the here and now as you will play as a member of Teir 1 Operators in Afghanistan. Teir 1 is the highest level of Special Operation forces. EA has said that realism will be one of the primary goals of the new game. While EALA, the creators of the franchise, will be crafting the single player EA DICE will be developing the multiplayer. There currently aren’t any details on exactly what either will feature but Medal of Honor will surely be looking to dethrone the current king of modern day shooters (coughCODcough). This is definitely one we’ll be keeping an eye on. Click the link above to check out the official site and keep it here on Gaming Bolt form more details as they come.
