Kojima today revealed the final poster for his upcoming magnum opus, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and it looks suitably grim and gritty. It’s also pretty damn brilliant, as it shows characters from the game dripping in blood, with text in Japanese reading “Stained in blood, the aftermath of revenge.”

The poster is planned to be displayed prominently in select stores starting next month, although it’s unclear yet if Konami will also bring it over across the shores to the western market; nevertheless, we do know that the game itself is out on September 1 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One worldwide; a PC version will launch on September 15 (and is being given away with the purchase of select Nvidia cards right now).

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the final entry in the saga, and is at the very least going to be the last game in the series that creator and auteur Hideo Kojima will be working on. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more information and coverage.
