Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall went from being one of the most mysterious titles in the industry to one of the most hotly anticipated first person shooters in a long, long while. The fact that it’s online-only has some people concerned, but what about the map size? Will the mechs and humans be able to coexist on a small battlefield?

Or we will be seeing large, open environments primarily? Or maybe a mix of the two? In a recent interview, Respawn Entertainment community manager Abbie Heppe stated that, “This is a pretty interesting question. We have to have maps that support not only the Titans which are over 20 feet tall but also human-sized Pilots, so even our ‘smaller’ maps are pretty large comparatively.

“What’s cool is each map has areas for Titans and areas for Pilots, so you get these smaller maps built into the larger ones and all these cool pathways through them.”

Titanfall is due to release in 2014 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
