I’m not sure if there’s a lot of competition for musical based traditional Japanese RPGs, but if there is, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE definitely deserved to be near the top. The game was a strange mishmash of Fire Emblem, Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, and it’s getting a new shot at life with a Switch enhanced re-release.

Two new trailers highlight two aspects of the game, one of which is the story and world you’ll be visiting. The video is in Japanese, so it may be a bit hard to follow if you don’t read or speak the language but you’ll get the colorful and musical world you’ll be visiting. The other is all about the game’s unique battle system, which will be familiar to those who are acquainted with the systems of the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch January 17th. For more looks into the game’s world, in English to boot, you can take a look through here.
