Tomb Raider Reboot Was Originally Called Cryptids And Starred ‘Sarah’ Instead Of Lara

Remember that portion of a new Tomb Raider script we posted (thanks to Siliconera, who in fact have now been asked to take it down)? Well, the folks over at Siliconera have found an earlier draft of said script which does not feature Lara Croft at all, but a character named ‘Sarah’ and the game itself was called ‘Cryptids‘. These could obviously have just been code-names to avoid leaks such as these, but the characterization is supposedly a little different, a little more gun ho, than we would expect from Ms. Croft. Again, this is designed to be a prequel so that may have just been an angle the the developers were experimenting with in regard to characterization, but it does raise the question as to whether the script was originally composed as a tomb raider at all?  Regardless, from what little info we have it looks like it is starting to shape up.
