6. Chibi-robo
Platformers are normally pretty cute and cuddly, but Chibi-robo took things to the next level by letting players take on the role of a small helper robot. The game fuses the maintenance normally associated with farm sims (though on a more urban scale) with the platforming required of a small robot in a big world. The DS exclusive sequel took this a step further, by actually making you tend to a public park. Fun, adorable and strangely satisfying, Chibi-robo bears the hallmark of a good genre cross over.
