TOTAL WAR: SHOGUN 2
An outlier in this feature, in terms of its genre. While most other games in this list are action titles or character action games, Total War: Shogun 2 is a strategy game. Make no mistake, though- in terms of absolute quality, Shogun 2 is far from being an outlier. In fact, I would even say it’s one of the very best games in this entire feature. Hell, it’s also probably the best Total War game ever made, and if you’ve played any (or even one) of the other games in the series, you know that’s high praise indeed.
