Silent Hill-alike Stray Souls is indebted to Team Silent’s fog-strewn haunted town, and whilst future games utilising Unreal Engine 5’s advanced facial animation system MetaHuman might achieve more realistic results from the tech, the eerie woodland and dilapidated suburbs of Stray Souls are gloomily illuminated to great effect by UE5’s real-time dynamic lighting. Highly detailed interiors complete with peeling wallpaper add tactile immersiveness to the game’s exploration too, providing a chilling experience as you uncover a wealth of dark secrets and macabre history.
