#4. PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE LOST CROWN
Prince of Persia coming back as a Metroidvania franchise wasn’t something many of us would have predicted, but we’re glad to have been wrong, because boy oh boy is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown an absolute masterpiece. With excellent combat and slick traversal mechanics, it delivers a game that feels sufficiently true to the series’ roots, but with its Metroidvania structure and the focus on exploration that that brings, it also evolves the franchise in truly incredible ways. Boasting spectacular level design, impressive variety in everything from enemies to biomes, shockingly rewarding progression mechanics, a wealth of excellent side cotnent to track down, and much more, The Lost Crown is easily one of the best modern Metroidvanias we’ve played.
