#6. CONTROL

control

Remedy Entertainment has made a lot of great games in the past, but specifically where gameplay is concerned, Control is perhaps their most impressive accomplishment to date- and the excellent shooting mechanics are a big factor in that success. You use just a single weapon throughout the game, but the Service Weapon can change into several different forms, and each is a joy to use, with just the perfect amount of feedback, and each dealing explosive visual carnage. Combined with the outlandish abilities that you acquire throughout the course of the game, combat in Control ends up feeling like a chaotic, frenzied, beautiful dance.
